Crisis severity values displayed in this application originate from the ACAPS INFORM Severity Index. ACAPS is responsible for data collection; the methodology itself is owned by INFORM, a multistakeholder forum whose scientific lead is the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. This application does not recalculate the index, reweight its dimensions, or blend it with any other risk model. Every score, category, and reliability label shown here is reproduced from the provider record for the release named on each page.

The INFORM Severity Index combines three dimensions into one 0-10 score with five severity categories: the impact of the crisis, conditions of the people affected, and the complexity of the crisis. This application surfaces those same three dimensions and their six underlying components without altering the provider weighting.

Reliability is a provider label reflecting the quality and recency of underlying evidence. This application shows the provider reliability label and last-updated date alongside the severity score itself.

• It does not ingest ACLED or IOM DTM data, or correlate INFORM against them.
• It does not generate an AI judgment of humanitarian severity.
• It does not recalculate or reweight the INFORM Severity Index.
• It does not forecast future severity.

A missing severity score means the provider could not compute one for that release. This application renders that as an explicit absence, never as zero.
